A 32" What!?

When I first got into sport shooting at a young age, I started on with youth model pump actions and affordable semi-auto shotguns that could be used for target shooting or hunting. Very functional and practical, or so I thought.
As I grew up, I quickly discovered why there are purpose built shotguns for certain tasks. For example, when I started shooting competitively, my youth model pump shotgun with its short 26" barrel, could not afford me the reach and accuracy I needed to compete and perform my best! Not to mention that I quickly outgrew the stock and length of pull, which made the shotgun all but useless to me and it was sad to see it leave the rotation. Next I moved to shooting the semi auto I used for hunting. Quick and agile, I thought it was going to perform beautifully on the trap range or a sporting clays course. It was good, but it was too good at being quick and agile. I often found myself over correcting and swinging the end of the barrel around my targets, rather than smoothly through them. Connecting with the flight path and turning them to dust. I knew I needed something else. A more capable and competent shotgun with balance and smoothness in the way it handled... I needed a true sporting shotgun.
Enter the Caesar Guerini Summit Sporting in a refined 12 gauge, weighing in at a solid 8lbs, with sexy 32" barrels, and crisp DTS trigger. I entered shotgun euphoria the first time I assembled and prepped this gorgeous, clay-breaking masterpiece. I strode confidently to my first stand with a pouch full of shells and the most beautiful gun draped over my arm. Got into my stance, took a deep smooth breath, feeling the balance and smooth handling immediately. My confidence was at an all time high. Simple trap style bird quartering away? Might as well mark them all as dead birds.
I then proceeded to miss about 15 in row. Speaking from experience, learning to use your first true sporting gun can be a challenge. However, once you get it down, you'll never go back and you'll be preforming out on the field better than ever before.
Happy Shooting!
